NEW VEHICLE DETAIL & CERAMIC PROTECTION

Designed to protect your car properly from day one

Despite what most dealerships suggest, new vehicles rarely arrive in perfect condition. Transport contamination, poor handover washes and light handling marks are extremely common, even on high value cars. Left untreated, these issues quickly worsen through regular washing and everyday use.

Our New Vehicle Detail and Ceramic Protection service is designed to correct what should never have been there in the first place, then protect the paintwork properly so it stays that way. This is a preventative service, focused on long term preservation rather than reactive correction.

This service is about starting ownership correctly, not fixing avoidable problems later.

This service is right for you if:

  • Your vehicle is brand new or nearly new
  • You want to protect the paintwork before wear sets in
  • You plan to keep the car in good condition long term
  • You want to make washing and maintenance easier from the outset

Why Ceramic?

SCRATCH RESISTANT

Creates a harder surface that resists light swirls and wash marring from improper contact or debris.

ULTRA GLOSS FINISH

Amplifies your vehicle’s colour and depth with a wet-look finish that outshines waxes or sealants.

CHEMICAL RESISTANT

Repels acidic contaminants like bird droppings, tree sap, and road salt, reducing etching and staining.

HEAT & UV RESISTANCE

Protects your paintwork from oxidation and fading caused by UV exposure and high temperatures. The coating forms a thermal barrier that preserves colour depth and prevents sun damage even under intense conditions.

LONG-TERM DURABILITY

Unlike wax, which breaks down in weeks, ceramic bonds to paint and lasts for years with proper care.

HYDROPHOBIC PERFORMANCE

Water beads and sheets off instantly, keeping the car cleaner for longer and making maintenance effortless.

What we do

Every New Vehicle Detail and Ceramic Protection service follows a disciplined preparation process, tailored specifically for vehicles in excellent overall condition.

The vehicle is safely washed and decontaminated to remove transport residue, bonded contamination and dealership handling marks. Light paint refinement is then carried out to improve overall clarity and uniformity, removing minor imperfections without unnecessary paint removal.

This refinement is intentionally restrained. The focus is on preserving paint thickness and setting the surface up correctly for long term protection, rather than chasing isolated defects that are not appropriate for a new vehicle.

Once the surface is properly prepared, ceramic protection is applied to the paintwork, trims and lights, ensuring the vehicle is protected consistently from the start of ownership.

The result

The result is a new vehicle that looks how it should have on collection day and stays that way far more easily. The paintwork appears cleaner, glossier and more uniform, with improved resistance to light wear and environmental contamination.

Routine washing becomes quicker and safer, the car stays cleaner for longer between washes, and the finish remains stable rather than gradually degrading through regular use. This approach reduces the need for corrective work later in the vehicle’s life and protects the value of the paintwork from the outset.

If a new vehicle presents with heavier defects or more significant issues than expected, we will advise whether a higher level of preparation is required to achieve the correct result.

Not Bad, Not Bad at all!

I recently had my car’s interior detailed at UNIT-11, and I couldn’t be more impressed! Great experience- the staff were incredibly welcoming and made me feel like a valued customer. The detailing itself was excellent—every inch of my car’s interior looked spotless and refreshed. They paid great attention to detail, and the results truly exceeded my expectations. On top of that, their pricing was very reasonable for the high-quality service they provided. I highly recommend Unit 11 to anyone looking for professional and affordable car detailing.

well worth the money

Had my Giulia Quadrifoglio ceramic coated just before easter at UNIT 11 and couldn’t be happier with the experience. Vienna, the manager, was incredibly knowledgeable and extremely helpful—she took the time to explain all the options clearly and recommended the best package for my needs without any pressure. They carried out a full paint correction and two-stage polish before applying the ceramic coating, and I also went for the wheels and screens package on top of the paintwork. The results are genuinely impressive—the paint has a deep gloss with mirror-like reflections, and the whole car looks absolutely pristine.

Frequently asked questions

Still have questions? No problem, check out the most commonly asked question below

Yes — if you value your vehicle’s appearance, long-term protection, and ease of maintenance, ceramic coating is an exceptional investment. It forms a chemically bonded layer over your paintwork, delivering:

  • A deep, high-gloss finish that lasts for years

  • Resistance to UV fading, light scratches, tar, and acidic contaminants

  • Dramatically improved hydrophobic behaviour, making washing easier and less frequent

While it won’t make your car invincible, it drastically slows the wear-and-tear process and preserves resale value. Done properly (like at Unit-11), it outperforms waxes and dealer-applied sealants by years.

No — ceramic coating doesn’t mean “no washing,” but it does make washing much easier and safer.

Dirt and water won’t cling to coated surfaces as they would to bare paint. Most grime will rinse off with minimal effort. That said, regular safe washing (using pH-neutral shampoo and proper technique) is still essential to avoid build-up and to keep the coating performing at its best.

At Unit-11, we also provide you with a tailored aftercare kit and maintenance advice to keep your coating in top condition.

No — ceramic coating is not a scratch remover or paint correction product. In fact, applying ceramic to a flawed surface will lock those imperfections in.

That’s why professional paint refinement is critical before coating. At Unit-11, we include machine polishing (single or multi-stage, depending on condition) in every ceramic package to ensure your paintwork is swirl-free and mirror-clear before protection is applied.

It depends on the coating type, surface prep, and how the vehicle is maintained. Here’s a realistic guide:

  • Entry-level coatings (1–3 years): Often DIY or low-cost studio work, with limited bonding and chemical resistance

  • Professional-grade coatings (5–10 years): Applied in controlled conditions, IR cured, and warrantied — like our Gtechniq, Gyeon, and Unit-11 Signature systems

At Unit-11, we only install accredited coatings registered to the vehicle, with durability from 3 to 10+ years depending on your chosen package. We also offer annual maintenance inspections to keep warranties valid and performance sharp.

Absolutely. Ceramic coating can be applied to:

  • All painted surfaces (including gloss black trim and badges)

  • Alloy wheels (faces or full barrel) to resist brake dust and heat

  • Glass to improve wet weather visibility and reduce wiper use

  • Interior surfaces such as leather, fabric and plastics to prevent staining, dye transfer and fading

  • Convertible soft tops using a dedicated nano-fabric guard

At Unit-11, we offer modular upgrades for all of these so your entire vehicle benefits — not just the bodywork.

They’re often sold at a premium, but rarely deliver premium results.

The issue lies in application quality, not the product itself. Dealerships often use entry-level coatings and rely on untrained staff or third parties working to tight turnaround times — usually applying the coating in under an hour without proper decontamination or machine polishing.

This means:

  • The paint surface is rarely corrected beforehand (so swirls and scratches remain sealed in)

  • The coating may not bond properly or last anywhere near its claimed lifespan

  • There’s usually no infra-red curing or controlled environment, reducing effectiveness

At Unit-11, we carry out full surface prep, machine refinement, and precise hand application in our climate-controlled studio, followed by infra-red curing. Every coating is registered to your vehicle, backed by an official warranty, and supported with aftercare advice — all of which you simply don’t get with a rushed dealer job.

Our ceramic coating services are carried out at our dedicated studio in Gillingham, where every vehicle benefits from a controlled environment and uncompromising attention to detail. We offer a free courtesy car and can also arrange trailered collection for your convenience. With easy access to major rail networks, we’re well positioned to serve clients from across the South East, including:
