COLLECTOR DETAIL & CERAMIC PROTECTION
For vehicles that are kept, not simply used
Some cars are more than transport. They are long term ownership decisions, significant investments, or vehicles with genuine personal value. In these cases, the approach to paintwork and protection needs to change.
Our Collector Detail and Ceramic Protection service is designed for vehicles where the condition of the paintwork matters deeply and must be preserved responsibly. This is our most involved detailing service, allowing the time and care required to achieve the highest level of finish we can safely deliver.
This service is approached with restraint, experience and long term thinking.
This service is right for you if:
- You plan to keep the vehicle long term
- The paintwork requires extensive correction
- The car has significant financial or emotional value
- You want the best possible finish without compromising paint integrity
- You value preservation over speed or shortcuts

Why Ceramic?
Creates a harder surface that resists light swirls and wash marring from improper contact or debris.
Amplifies your vehicle’s colour and depth with a wet-look finish that outshines waxes or sealants.
Repels acidic contaminants like bird droppings, tree sap, and road salt, reducing etching and staining.
Protects your paintwork from oxidation and fading caused by UV exposure and high temperatures. The coating forms a thermal barrier that preserves colour depth and prevents sun damage even under intense conditions.
Unlike wax, which breaks down in weeks, ceramic bonds to paint and lasts for years with proper care.
Water beads and sheets off instantly, keeping the car cleaner for longer and making maintenance effortless.
What we do
Every Collector service begins with a detailed inspection. The condition of the paintwork, previous work, paint thickness and ownership goals are assessed before any correction work begins.
The vehicle is thoroughly washed and fully decontaminated before undergoing advanced multi-stage paint correction. This process is carried out progressively, allowing us to safely reduce deeper defects, refine the finish and maximise clarity without unnecessary paint removal.
Perfection is not chased blindly. Decisions are made panel by panel with paint health as the priority. Some defects may be left intentionally where further correction would compromise longevity.
Once the finish has been refined to the highest appropriate standard, long term ceramic protection is applied to the paintwork, trims and lights to preserve the result and slow future wear.
Depending on vehicle condition, this service may extend beyond standard timeframes.
The result
The result is a finish that looks deeply refined, natural and correct under all lighting conditions. Paintwork appears sharper, more uniform and significantly clearer, with defects reduced to a level that transforms the overall presentation of the vehicle.
Ceramic protection locks in this result, helping the finish remain stable over time and reducing the impact of future use and maintenance. The vehicle becomes easier to care for without compromising the integrity of the paintwork.
This service is designed for preservation. It is not rushed, and it is not suitable for vehicles where time or cost constraints take priority over long term outcome.

Not Bad, Not Bad at all!
I recently had my car’s interior detailed at UNIT-11, and I couldn’t be more impressed! Great experience- the staff were incredibly welcoming and made me feel like a valued customer. The detailing itself was excellent—every inch of my car’s interior looked spotless and refreshed. They paid great attention to detail, and the results truly exceeded my expectations. On top of that, their pricing was very reasonable for the high-quality service they provided. I highly recommend Unit 11 to anyone looking for professional and affordable car detailing.

well worth the money
Had my Giulia Quadrifoglio ceramic coated just before easter at UNIT 11 and couldn’t be happier with the experience. Vienna, the manager, was incredibly knowledgeable and extremely helpful—she took the time to explain all the options clearly and recommended the best package for my needs without any pressure. They carried out a full paint correction and two-stage polish before applying the ceramic coating, and I also went for the wheels and screens package on top of the paintwork. The results are genuinely impressive—the paint has a deep gloss with mirror-like reflections, and the whole car looks absolutely pristine.

Frequently asked questions
Still have questions? No problem, check out the most commonly asked question below
Yes — if you value your vehicle’s appearance, long-term protection, and ease of maintenance, ceramic coating is an exceptional investment. It forms a chemically bonded layer over your paintwork, delivering:
A deep, high-gloss finish that lasts for years
Resistance to UV fading, light scratches, tar, and acidic contaminants
Dramatically improved hydrophobic behaviour, making washing easier and less frequent
While it won’t make your car invincible, it drastically slows the wear-and-tear process and preserves resale value. Done properly (like at Unit-11), it outperforms waxes and dealer-applied sealants by years.
No — ceramic coating doesn’t mean “no washing,” but it does make washing much easier and safer.
Dirt and water won’t cling to coated surfaces as they would to bare paint. Most grime will rinse off with minimal effort. That said, regular safe washing (using pH-neutral shampoo and proper technique) is still essential to avoid build-up and to keep the coating performing at its best.
At Unit-11, we also provide you with a tailored aftercare kit and maintenance advice to keep your coating in top condition.
No — ceramic coating is not a scratch remover or paint correction product. In fact, applying ceramic to a flawed surface will lock those imperfections in.
That’s why professional paint refinement is critical before coating. At Unit-11, we include machine polishing (single or multi-stage, depending on condition) in every ceramic package to ensure your paintwork is swirl-free and mirror-clear before protection is applied.
It depends on the coating type, surface prep, and how the vehicle is maintained. Here’s a realistic guide:
Entry-level coatings (1–3 years): Often DIY or low-cost studio work, with limited bonding and chemical resistance
Professional-grade coatings (5–10 years): Applied in controlled conditions, IR cured, and warrantied — like our Gtechniq, Gyeon, and Unit-11 Signature systems
At Unit-11, we only install accredited coatings registered to the vehicle, with durability from 3 to 10+ years depending on your chosen package. We also offer annual maintenance inspections to keep warranties valid and performance sharp.
Absolutely. Ceramic coating can be applied to:
All painted surfaces (including gloss black trim and badges)
Alloy wheels (faces or full barrel) to resist brake dust and heat
Glass to improve wet weather visibility and reduce wiper use
Interior surfaces such as leather, fabric and plastics to prevent staining, dye transfer and fading
Convertible soft tops using a dedicated nano-fabric guard
At Unit-11, we offer modular upgrades for all of these so your entire vehicle benefits — not just the bodywork.
They’re often sold at a premium, but rarely deliver premium results.
The issue lies in application quality, not the product itself. Dealerships often use entry-level coatings and rely on untrained staff or third parties working to tight turnaround times — usually applying the coating in under an hour without proper decontamination or machine polishing.
This means:
The paint surface is rarely corrected beforehand (so swirls and scratches remain sealed in)
The coating may not bond properly or last anywhere near its claimed lifespan
There’s usually no infra-red curing or controlled environment, reducing effectiveness
At Unit-11, we carry out full surface prep, machine refinement, and precise hand application in our climate-controlled studio, followed by infra-red curing. Every coating is registered to your vehicle, backed by an official warranty, and supported with aftercare advice — all of which you simply don’t get with a rushed dealer job.
